Meet at the route 52 trail head and hike up the back side of Mt Battie (much less steep than the Megunticook Street trail), and then back. There is limited parking here, so it might be worth carpooling with a friend.
Wear good solid walking/hiking footwear, bring a full water bottle, and wear layers - especially if it's windy. Mount Battie via Carriage Road Trail is a 2.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Camden, Maine that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips and is best used from April until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This week, Mish Sommers, Founder of Happier Outside, will facilitate a discussion amongst us - what wellness habit or practice makes a difference for YOU? It could be breathwork, going for a walk with a friend, stretching, drinking lemon juice… we all have those hacks that we use, or things we do, that really work for us and make a difference in our lives - come ready to share one of yours!
Mish will also facilitate a moment of reflection somewhere near the top in a quiet spot. This is a short but steep-at-times hike, and we will allow for different paces to hike up and back, with a short gathering at the viewpoint. Please come prepared.
Please be sure to review and sign the liability release. We ask that you are familiar with this, and to sign a copy once each calendar year.
