Meet at the route 52 trail head and hike up the back side of Mt Battie (much less steep than the Megunticook Street trail), and then back. There is limited parking here, so it might be worth carpooling with a friend. Views are spectacular this time of year - bring your phone or camera!
Wear good solid walking/hiking footwear, bring a full water bottle, and wear layers - especially if it's windy. Mount Battie via Carriage Road Trail is a 2.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Camden, Maine that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips and is best used from April until September.
This week, Ramona Larsen - yoga teacher, personal trainer, runner, and lover of nature - will join us as our guest wellness presenter this week. Ramona believes in self-love first, and that whatever you are “working on”, whether it’s getting stronger/ leaner/ or feeling freer in your body, it has to be because you already love yourself - not so that you will love yourself more as a result. She will share her insights and stories with us both in a short presentation and along the trail! You can find out more about Ramona’s current wellness offerings on her Instagram page @ramonalarsenwellness
Mish will also facilitate a moment of reflection somewhere near the top in a quiet spot. This is a short but steep-at-times hike, and we will allow for different paces to hike up and back, with a short gathering at the viewpoint. Please come prepared.
Parking can be found either at the trailhead or just down the road at Wendy Kirklian’s house, 220 Mountain Street Camden ME. Please be ready to depart the trailhead at 10 am!
Please be sure to review and sign the liability release if you haven’t already. We ask that you are familiar with this, and to sign a copy once each calendar year. (If you have attended another series in 2021 and signed the LR you don’t need to sign it again this year!)
